The large farm at Le Pourier has been a thorn in the Guard's side all through the 18th July. German Antitank guns and infantry have used it as a strongpoint to pick off passing tanks from units moving south across the Caen to Vimont railway. The Welsh Guards have been given the job of clearing the farm before the push on to Frenouville later this day and thus securing right flank of this thrusts . The farm is a re-enforced building with little damage . The rail line runs along the northern board edge. Battalion size game  Scenario 6 Assault on Frenouville 19th July 1944 Background  The Guards Armoured Division has lost about 60 tanks on the 18th July. The morning of the 19th July saw them preparing to press onward to there objectives. Overnight the Germans had moved a Kampfgruppe from 12th SS Panzer Division into the Frenouville area. The Grenadier Guards with air and artillery support toward Frenouville and soon became engaged with Kampfgruppe Waldmuller.  Fierce fighting raged throughout the day with the Grenadier Guards battles a determined and skillful defence with Jadgpanzer IV of 12th anti-tank battalion lurking behind hedgerows.
