Scenario and AAR Crete 2 Tavaronis River Dawn 20 May 1941

The Taveronis River bed southwest of Maleme aurfield at the foot of Hill 107. This time two platoons from New Zealand 22 battalion face more gliders and parachutists from Sturmbattalion. One platoon are dug in on both sides of the bridge. Only 2 section would be dug in. The rest of the platoons counter attacking and arriving from turn 3.

Two infantry section dug in overlooking the river bed along with a 2" mortar in a foxhole.

Three Dornier glides lead the attack each timing for a parachute container in the valley. One container landed amongst the NZ defenders and would be captured by them.

Turn 3 and the reinforcemnt arrive from further up the hill. The platoon HQ and the final rifle section

a random and very unlikely event A lone Hurricane arrives and strafe the German paratroop.

the second platoon arrives the Germans now between two fires are rapidly pinned down. The arrival of a Vickers MG was a blow to the German hopes as the gun under fare and after heavy casualties the jaegers surrender and withdraw West. Final BR 20 to NZ 16 (20)

Time to improve terrain. Fields and gardens on an old piece of hardboard. Corrugated paper then textured and spray painted. Plants from scatter static grass on lines of PVA. Grass tuft in rows and green paint soaked sponge and pieces of clump foliage. Fences a mix of plant ties and bamboo skewers for the hurdles and garden thyme stripped of leaves to be the brush in the brushwood fences. a mixture of open field and fenced gardens house at the cetre of a fenced gardens and crop fileds Patchwork of fields - the irrigation ditch is scratch built from acrylic sheets Vines in a ploughed field - vines scratch built from pipe cleaners Patchwork of gardens the pigsty is bought from Hovels yonks ago Brush wood fence some scattered static grass used for young crops Ploughed field with orchard trees A series of the fields to make a patchwork close to a village ploughed field with shredded sponge cabbages A mix of lants made of clump folia...

Scenario and AAR Forwards the Guards 4 Evening Assault on Cagny

Battalion Size Game Forwards the Guards 4 Evening Assault on Cagny Background By the evening of of June 18th it was becoming clear that the British had failed to break through anywhere. A determined German defence had held them. In Cagny the town was still in German hands. The Coldstream Guards where planning there attack when unexpectedly Grenadier Guards attacked across the fields from the south west. Cagny was heavily damaged by the mornings heavy bomber attacks this has cratered the area and choked the roads with rubble. Most houses are damaged. The town is not held by the Germans in strength. So the British Motorised infantry dismounted and supported by tanks pushed forward. Major Von Luck had re-enforced the defenders with 21st Panzers reconnaissance battalion. The battle raged through the long summer evening and by nightfall the Grenadier Guards had cleared the town and the German defenders had fallen back toward Frenouville to the east. Game...
